FAQs

What is “Solar Control Glass”?

Solar control glass is a type of glass that minimises the heat a building may intake from the sun, and rejects solar radiation. Solar radiation produces glare, but solar control glass counteracts it. This type of glass is essential during excessively warm periods as it prevents overheating inside the building.

What is BS EN12207?

This standard refers to the air permeability of windows and doors, and ensures that your glazing effectively prevents water ingress.

What are the properties of aluminium?

Aluminium is used often for industrial purposes as it is incredibly easy to cast, machine and form. It can be bent into any shape while still harbouring impressive strength and is celebrated as the second most malleable metal. Additionally, aluminium has excellent corrosion resistant properties which protect it from deterioration caused by condensation.

What are the benefits of natural light?

Natural light hosts many benefits to the mind and body. For example, solar energy encourages the body to produce vitamin D, improves sleep patterns, encourages focus, and boosts mood. There are also practical benefits to natural light, as it negates the need for artificial lighting throughout the day which can help you to save money on your energy bills.
