PLASGARD GLAZING BARS
Glazing bars for glass panels or polycarbonate
PlasGard is a simple two part glazing bar with continuous screw on capping for polycarbonate or glass. Approved by all the major manufacturers of polycarbonate roofing sheets for use with multi-wall and solid plastics, PlasGard is also suitable for single glazing with glass from 6mm to 25mm.
Polycarbonate glazing bars are an essential part of the construction of unheated spaces such as canopies, verandahs, car ports, shelters or rail platforms. Easy to install, PlasGard glazing bars offer excellent value and a wider glazing rebate providing superior glass retention for exposed locations or areas where bomb-blast mitigation is required making it ideal for large public transport hubs and rail stations.

Polycarbonate Glazing Bar FAQs
Are polycarbonate glazing bars made of plastic bars?
No, PlasGard glazing bars are made of aluminium alloy 6063-T6. It is most commonly used as an architectural alloy in intricate extrusions because of its high corrosion resistance and welding capabilities.
Do PlasGard Glazing Bars provide insulation?
PlasGard Glazing Bars do not provide insulation. If you require a thermally broken system for insulation purposes, please consider our ThermGard ALM100 & TG50 systems, which provide enhanced insulation.
What are PlasGard glazing bars used for?
PlasGard glazing bars are suitable for single glazing from 4mm to 25mm and for use with solid or multi-wall polycarbonate sheets up to 25mm. Our polycarbonate glazing bars are the perfect solution for glass canopies, glass walkways and station roof glazing.
The use of a polycarbonate glazing bar will help to prolong the life of your structure as they can prevent water ingress and keep glass panels and roof sheets from lifting in high winds.
